This piece was painted in the studio from reference photos and plein air studies. The subject is Garrapata State Park in California...one of my favorite places on earth. There is something so spiritual about this particular spot. The atmosphere, the cliffs, the ice plant, the smell of the ocean which is just around these cliffs, just out of view.
