This is my "Quick Paint" piece from the 2010 Door County Plein Air Festival in Wisconsin. The subject is "Malibu Moo's Frozen Griddle"... the most wonderful (and paintable!) ice cream shop in Fish Creek. Stop in and say hi to owner Sherrie if you ever get the chance to visit there (and try the "Chunky Monkey Moo"). Each year Sherrie's flowers are prettier and more colorful, so I just have to paint this at least once every time I'm there. This time it was a very rainy overcast day...the rain quit long enough for us to get in the two hour "quick paint". And for about 20 seconds the sun came out...so happy I was able to catch that light! This painting sold at the auction immediately following the "quick paint" competition.
