This piece was painted during the 2010 Door County Plein Air Festival in Wisconsin. I've always wanted to paint this iconic scene in Ellison Bay, but until this day the light had not been right when I was there. This time it was perfect! As I painted, I enjoyed visiting with people who shared wonderful stories of the legendary owner of the garage, Gus Klenke. He must have been quite a guy!
