This piece was painted on location at a private property which had been an old quarry. This is north of Omaha, just across the Washington County line. The river valley in the background of this piece was ablaze with sunflowers, and the fall colors were starting to appear. This is a favorite place to paint...the water lilies, the beautiful gardens...it is so very peaceful.
