The majority of this painting was done on location at Bow Falls, near Banff, Canada, in 2007, and was finished in the studio in 2009. The weather wasn't cooperating so I packed up and as soon as my gear was loaded up the sun popped out and lit up the falls. I took several photos and in the studio, turned the gray day painting into a sunlit one!
