Gone to Check the Lobstahs

This piece was painted on location in two sessions in Port Clyde, Maine. I loved the challenge of making "sense" of all of the traps and stacks of "stuff" on the deck of this place as well as the wonderful light and colors of the buoys hanging on the house. There were literally hundreds of potential paintings in this place! My husband has claimed this painting, but I do plan to paint a larger studio piece based on this one...stay tuned!
