Dancing in the Light

This was painted on location at a farm owned by a friend of mine. I went there with the intention of painting her barn, but as I came around the corner of the barn, I saw this scene and it stopped me in my tracks. The streaming light was so gorgeous and the brightly lit foliage against the dark doorway of the barn was stunning. I will be painting a larger version of this piece for the American Impressionist Society's 16th Annual National Juried Exhibition which will be held in October 2015 at Trailside Galleries, Scottsdale AZ.
