Hello and happy spring! Super exciting news to share...
I've been invited to have a solo exhibition at Creighton University's Lied Art Gallery in Omaha...an incredible honor! The show will open in late January 2027. I'll have somewhere between 20 and 25 new large paintings for this show, so stay tuned! Click here for more details.
And...two of my paintings are featured in juried exhibitions opening this week!
This Saturday, May 2nd, the American Impressionist Society's Small Works Showcase opens at J. Petter Galleries in Douglas, Michigan. Opening reception will be from 2 to 5pm. If you're in the area, I'd love to see you there! My painting "Prairie in Bloom" is included in this exhibition. There will also be a "Wet Wall" exhibition featuring paintings created this week.
And this Friday, May 1st, the NOAPS (National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society) Best of America Small Works Exhibition will open at Anderson Fine Art Gallery in St Simon's Island, Georgia. Opening reception will be held at the gallery from 5 to 7pm. My painting, "Painters at Musgrove Retreat" 11x14 oil, is included in this show.
I'll be back at the Door County Plein Air Festival in Wisconsin again this year! Mark your calendar for July 19-25. This is the festival's 20th year and it's been an honor to be invited to participate all but the first year. Hope to see you there! I have a few pieces from previous festivals available at my gallery, including this one, "Quiet Morning, Ephraim" 10x20 oil (below). Click on the image for more information.
"Moonlight Walk in the Park" (12x9 oil on linen panel) was painted from photos and direct observation of the park behind our home during a full moon. We walk our dog several times a day here. It's really beautiful at night and this particular night was especially so. If you look closely you'll see a figure walking a dog along the path. This piece is available through Impact Nebraska Artists.
This new piece (below) sold as soon as I posted it on my social media platforms! "The Long and Winding Road" is a smaller version of a piece I did about 5 years ago. The scene is about 60 miles west of Omaha, Nebraska, in an area known as the "Bohemian Alps." It's a really beautiful area...amazing steep hills and some of the roads are like roller coasters!
If you're looking for a way to explore your creativity and relieve some stress, be sure to check out my workshop and class schedule here.New this year: "Sunday Specials" one day subject specific classes: Color Mixing Charts, Composition, Values, Painting Clouds & Skies.
